KidsCare An Arizona Success Story For 10 Years (January 2009) Together with AHCCCS/Medicaid, KidsCare has been an Arizona success for ten years – raising the rate of children who can get the health care they need when they need it. KidsCare is an affordable health insurance program for children 18 years or younger who do not have health insurance and do not qualify for Medicaid. It offers comprehensive, cost-effective, quality, and preventative health care through a number of private health plans around Arizona. And KidsCare has been making this contribution for 10 years.

Currently, almost 270,000 children in Arizona lack health coverage. This report suggests policy changes, including state subsidies of insurance premiums and increased outreach for enrollment in state-funded programs, to assist families in ensuring the health of their children.
